Black Stars to scale over Cameroon to finals - Obuasi Fans

Obuasi (Ash) Feb. 5, GNA - A number of sports enthusiasts in the Obuasi Municipality of the Ashanti Region have predicted that the Black Stars of Ghana would definitely overcome the Indomitable Lions of Cameroon on Thursday to qualify to the finals of the 26th MTN African Cup of Nations.

Even though some of them admitted the match would be tough for the Stars, they were of the view that the team would eventually scale over the hurdle to zoom into the finals. Micheal Kwadwo Brentuo, popularly known as Allan Cash, a sales boy at the Mummy's Countryside pub, a popular drinking spot in the Municipality in an interview with the GNA Sports said Ghana was definitely going to win the match, even though it was going to be a difficult match, adding that 'the Cameroonians are a strong side but we will win the match'.

Stephen Frimpong, a newspaper vendor, was optimistic that the Indomitable Lions cannot 'roar' above the Stars. "As for Cameroon, we will beat them with ease but we have to pray hard since both Egypt and Cote d'Ivoire are very strong sides".

Speaking to the GNA Sports, Madam Leticia Akofah, a strong soccer enthusiast and a staff of the Obuasi Circuit Court, said Ghanaians should 'start going down on their knees' to pray to God since the Cameroonians are a strong side.

"The Cameroonians are a very strong side and so it is going to be a difficult match for us. We, therefore, need to start praying to God for victory."

Another fan was of the view that the match would be tough for the Stars, since the Cameroonians could cause an upset if the Black Stars failed to organize themselves well especially in defence. James Benantepham, the Obuasi Manager of Graphic Communications Group Limited, observed that the Black Stars would have no problem in thrashing Cameroon. "As for Cameroon, no matter the team they present to face the Stars, we will beat them. It is only the Ivorians that we have a task to overcome".

Ms Esther Goloe, Secretary to the Obuasi Municipal Director of Education, said that the Black Stars was going to win hands down. "The match is not going to travel to any extra time."
