We’ll keep composure against SA - Grant

Ghana coach Avram Grant is ready to step up the accelerator against South Africa on Tuesday after the 1-0 win over Algeria.

The former Chelsea boss is convinced his charges have what it takes to see off Bafana Bafana and book a place in the last-eight.

“The key is to keep our momentum and composure because the most important thing in this tournament is to learn from the last game because the most important is the next game,” Grant told the media on Monday.

“I think if you see the team in the last game, they showed a lot of mentality, a lot of mental strength and in the second half [against Algeria] also we were the better side and scored in the last moment so I hope that we continue like this.”

He added: “I have said it before it will be very difficult playing against South Africa. In most of the moments they played fantastic football.

“And we know it will be very difficult for us but it is also always our target to make it difficult for our opponent.”

Ghana need a win to qualify for the next round whilst a draw could also see the four-time African champions through depending on the results of the Algeria and Senegal game.
