Use local players for the remaining games - Agyemang-Badu advises Otto Addo

Former Black Stars player Emmanuel Agyemang-Badu has suggested that Otto Addo use locally-based players for Ghana's remaining games in the 2025 Africa Cup of Nations.

He asserted that Ghanaians would accept the local players losing in good faith rather than the supposed strongest side failing to deliver.

Agyemang-Badu mentioned that the Black Stars lack cohesion, aggressiveness, and conviction in their play.

"There is no cohesion, no aggressiveness, and slow passing. It looks like there is nothing at stake; we should play, whatever happens, happens. Normally it is difficult for me to talk about players because of the background I am from, but in fact, there is a lot to do if this is how it is going to be," he told Asempa FM as quoted by footballghana.com.

"We will plead with the coach [Otto Addo] to consider local players, and even if they go and lose, I think Ghanaians will accept it," he added.

The Black Stars are now without a win in two games in the 2025 AFCON qualifiers, losing 1-0 to Angola in Kumasi before a 1-1 draw against Niger in Morocco.

Angola leads the group with 6 points, followed by Sudan with 3, while Ghana and Niger are both tied with a point each at the bottom.
