Italian club Udinese have reportedly agreed to sell Emmanuel Agyemang Badu to Stoke City for €6.5m.
Reports emanated last week that Stoke City manager Mark Hughes has dropped his interest in signing the Ghana international after making playmaker Xherdan Shaqiri his number one priority signing.
However, the 24-year-old is now thought to be on a move to the Britannia stadium as Mark Hughes is in the market for a central midfielder to replace Steven Nzonzi who has joined La Liga side Sevilla.
La Gazzetta dello Sport claims the ex-Asante Kotoko defensive midfielder has agreed terms for a four-year contract and his club Udinese will pocket €6.5m from the deal (approximately £4.7m).
Agyemang Badu has been in Udine since January 2010.
Last season, he made 32 appearances in the league for Udinese, scoring once as well as picking up four yellow cards and one red card.
