U20 Women's World Cup exit bitter to swallow - Princesses coach

Black Princesses coach Bashir Hayford is refusing to come terms with their first round elimination from the FIFA U20 Women’s World Cup.

The Princesses secured a late 2-1 win against Finland, after having dispatched host nations Canada 1-0 in the opening game.

A 3-0 loss to Korea DPR in their second match proved disastrous as they finished third behind the Asians and Canada on goal difference.

Hayford says he cannot come to terms how he failed to qualify despite obtaining six points.

“Some teams secure four points and they qualify others even three but I can’t believe we obtained six points and still did not make it,” he told GHANSoccernet.com.

“The team did very well I cannot blame anyone. Before we left Ghana the interest was low but after our win against Canada people begun to take note, it’s sad we couldn’t go far.”
