Tommy Memorial Hockey Tournament in Kumasi

Kumasi, June 22, GNA - Nineteen hockey clubs comprising 14 men and five women's clubs nationwide have registered to participate in this year's T, Tommy Memorial Hockey Tournament slated for July 1 and 2 in Kumasi.
A release issued in Kumasi mentioned the participating clubs in the men's group as the Exchequers of Bank of Ghana (BOG), Trustees of Social Security and National Insurance Trust (SSNIT), Customs, Excise and Preventive Service (CEPS), Mariners of Ghana Navy, Golden Sticks of Ghana Commercial Bank, Multi Sticks, Veterans, citizens and NDK Financial Service in Accra.
The rest in the men's group are the Seniors, Silver Sticks, Royals and Academicals, all of Kumasi and Koforidua Sticks from the Eastern region.
The women clubs are Yaa Asantewaa Girls, Saint Monica's Girls, Konongo-Odumase, Kumasi Girls and Kwame Nkrumah University of Science and Technology (KNUST) Secondary Schools.
The competition, which is being organized by the Ashanti Region Hockey Association in conjunction with the Ghana Hockey Association, is sponsored by Donnyma Steel Complex, Dannypharma and Princia Ventures. The two-day tournament will involve players like Dr Anthony Akoto-Osei, Deputy Minister of Finance, Nii Noi Ashong, Colonel Ohene Asante, John Fia, Awuah Nyamekye, J.O. Amoo-Gottfried, Lawyer Yaw Boafo, Gerald Owusu-Ansah and Eric Nkansa Dwamena.
