Stars can beat any team - Pele

Ghana"s football legend Abedi Pele says the current Black Stars squad can beat any team at the World Cup finals.

Ghana made history on thursday by booking a second round berth with Brazil in the World Cup finals.

The Stars beat USA 2-1 to make the dream possible.

Speaking to Citi FM, Pele maintained that the game was a bit difficult because of the style of the Americans but it is refreshing that they came through.

He emphasised that the team can hold their own against Brazil in the second round since they have what it takes to beat any team at the finals.

"i have said time and again that Ghana will go far: " the way they are playing now it will be diffucult to say they will not go far, i know they have the capacity to beat any team", he stressed.

The three-time African footballer of the year also believes that Ghana has saved the image of Africa in the World Cup.

"Many people wrote us off but our performance speaks for itself. " i think people should not always judge based on the past but they should look forward as well", he added.
