Manchester United captain Bruno Fernandes has been left dealing with a burglary at his home after masked intruders broke into his Cheshire property while he was playing in the club’s UEFA Champions League defeat to Como.
The incident reportedly occurred at around 8:30 pm on Wednesday, October 21, 2026, when three men were spotted at the Portuguese midfielder’s residence in Nether Alderley, an affluent area of Cheshire.
According to reports, the intruders gained access to the property and stole several valuable items, including designer jewellery. The men had reportedly fled before police arrived following a neighbour’s alert.
Cheshire Police have launched an investigation into the incident and are reviewing available CCTV footage to identify those responsible.

Manchester United subsequently confirmed that Fernandes’ family were not at home during the burglary. The club also said it was supporting the midfielder and hoped he and his family would be given privacy during the difficult period.
The break-in came on a difficult evening for Fernandes, who was in Italy as United suffered a 4-1 defeat to Como in their Champions League fixture.
His residence is reportedly valued at around £4 million and is located in an area associated with several high-profile footballers.
The incident adds to a growing list of footballers whose homes have been targeted while they are away fulfilling professional commitments.
