Accra, Sept. 4, GNA – It will take a miracle for the Ghana Football Association (GFA) to renew the mandate of Black Princesses Coach, Robert Sackey when his spell with the female team expires in two months.

Information pieced together by GNA Sports indicates that the Coach who led the Princesses to the on-going FIFA U-20 Women’s World Cup will not have his 12-month contract renewed after its expiration.

Sackey, contracted for 12 months is expected to present his technical report to the GFA in the ensuing weeks; a move which could be his last association with the Princesses, at least for now.

A source at the GFA said an Executive Committee meeting held while the Princesses were in Japan for the tournament at which they exited in the first round, without scoring a single goal in three outings, initially decided to dispense with the services of the United States-based trainer right after the competition of the championship.

However, the Executive Committee later decided to allow the trainer to see out his contract instead of showing him the exit two months before it runs out.

Sackey’s fate, according to the information has not been helped by his decision to go public over his 10-month unpaid salary. The Coach was quoted as expressing dissatisfaction over the unpaid salaries while leading the Princesses in Japan.

He was contracted by the GFA last year plus other local coaches for all the national teams on a $3000 monthly salary. The coach is thus owed $30,000 dollars, covering the 10-month unpaid wages.

The United States-based trainer is meanwhile said to have received his bonuses including the $4,000 per game during the qualifying series.

The Princesses conceded six goals and scored none by losing 0-4 to the USA, 0-1 to both Germany and China respectively while playing at their second World Cup and had to cut short their romance at the world stage.
