No tension in Ghana camp on return of Ayews

The Black Stars are preparing in Kenya for the game this weekend in Addis Ababa.

Pictures emerging from the Ghana training camp depict a very friendly and cordial atmosphere.

One of those shots saw returnee Andre Ayew in a hearty chat with coach Kwesi Appiah.

There have been reports of a rift between Appiah and the Ayews over the former’s decision not to invite them for games in recent history.

Both Andre and his younger brother Jordan are making a return to the Black Stars fold having been overlooked on a couple of occasions.

They have not been called up to the Black Stars ever since they pulled out of Ghana’s 2018 World Cup qualifying match in Congo last year, citing injury and illness respectively.

The duo were however on that occasion rumoured to have feigned illness and injury as they didn’t want to travel for the game in Congo.

This led to reports of friction between the Ayews and the Black Stars coach.

But these rumours have been put to bed as both players are training very well on their return to the national team with Andre even cosying up with Appiah, a former Ghana international who played alongside the legendary Abedi Pele.
