Muntari's absence not felt - Grant

Black Stars coach Avram Grant has insisted his side has not missed suspended midfielder Sulley Muntari but admits the Black Stars are suffering from Christian Atsu's absence.

The Al Ittihad Jeddah wide-man has not featured for the Black Stars since being suspended by the Ghana Football Association for his conduct during the 2014 FIFA World Cup in Brazil.

A section of Ghanaian fans believe the absence of the experienced former Inter Milan and AC Milan player has affected the Black Stars's quality.

But head coach Grant has insisted his team is fine without the 31-year-old who has scored 21 times from 83 appearances for the Black Stars. He however admits he side is feeling the absence of Bournemouth star Christian Atsu who missed the double-header with injury.

"Muntari is not the squad. The player that we miss is Atsu. He is a wonderful, best player but he was injured so he couldnt play," the Israeli gaffer told reporters on arrival at the KIA.

The Black Stars must beat Comoros at the Baba Yara Sports Stadium on Tuesday to reach the stage of qualifiers for the Russia 2018 FIFA World Cup.

Ghana fared the spoils in a 0-0 stalemate in the first-leg at the Moroni on Friday.
