Medeama, Berekum Chelsea chase Tony Lokko

Footy-ghana.com can exclusively reveal that Medeama SC have stepped up efforts to hijack Berekum Chelsea’s move to hire Tony Lokko as the club’s new head coach.

According to our sources, Berekum Chelsea looked to have sealed the capture of the Amidaus Professionals head coach after chasing him for a year.

Footy-ghana.com investigations reveal that Lokko received support from Chelsea when he attended the first part of the CAF License ‘A’ coaching course with the understanding that he would join them after the season ended.

Footy-ghana.com can however reveal that the Medeama SC hierarchy, which originally looked set to appoint Hans Van der Pluym as the club’s new head coach, has had second thoughts about hiring the Dutchman and has set its sights on Lokko.

According to footy-ghana.com sources, Medeama SC is prepared to pay Lokko a monthly salary of $3000, with accommodation, a vehicle and fuel to go with it. Footy-ghana.com understands that Lokko is currently in a dilemma as to where to go, but would take a decision at the end of this week.

Tony Lokko guided Amidaus Professionals to promotion into Ghana’s top flight the season before last and kept them in the Premier League, as well as taking the club to the MTN FA Cup semifinal.
