Lose weight or get benched- Duncan charges Sowah

Goalkeeper Ernest Sowah Goalkeeper Ernest Sowah

Ernest Sowah has been told by coach David Duncan to lose weight if he is to get regular playing time at Asante Kotoko, Sportscrusader.com is reliably informed.

The 27-year-old sealed a three-year move to the dethroned Premier League champions last week.

Sowah joined Kotoko as a free agent after his contract with DR Congo club Don Bosco expired earlier this year.

The former Berekum Chelsea goalkeeper will be competing with the likes of Joseph Addo.

Eric Ofori Antwi and Felix Annan for the first choice spot.

But coach David Duncan is unimpressed with the weight of his newly-signed goalkeeper.

A special training program is being designed by the Kotoko technical team to get their new goalkeeper in shape even before they commence pre-season activities.

Duncan in his meeting with the player shortly after signing the three-year deal charged the player to check his diet and vary his training methods to ensure he trims down for business.

The goalkeeper has since returned to Accra to prepare himself for a return to the club to begin his career with Kotoko.
