Lorient president Loïc Féry is ready to sell Ghana striker Majeed Waris if the right offer comes along this January transfer window.

English Premier League sides West Ham and Burnley were reported to have come close but but ‘complications’ led to the Ghana international to remain in the French Ligue 2.

Lorient were asking for around €10m in the summer but that number should be considerably lower next month.

Waris has struggled to impress in the first half of the season with the 26-year-old making six appearances, scoring one goal and picking up one assist.

Speaking to Ouest-France, Féry said: ''His situation is different. We aren’t against a departure, but it has to be a good deal for the club. We won’t just accept anything.

''A loan? It depends in what conditions, and if it can help us strengthen the squad.''
