Kwesi Appiah earns $25,000 net salary in signed contract extension

Kwesi Appiah is earning $25,000 after tax in his new two-year contract extension as coach of the Black Stars, GHANAsoccernet.com checks have revealed.

The 54-year-old signed the contract extension back in May before leading the Black Stars to a disastrous campaign at the 2014 World Cup.

The improved terms in the two-year deal was reportedly to rake in $36,000 for the former Asante Kotoko defender.

But GHANAsoccernet.com can confirm that Appiah received a marginal net salary increment from $20,000 to $25,000.

Ghana FA President Kwesi Nyantakyi and Acting General Secretary Emmanuel Gyimah were signatories on behalf of the association in the two-year deal which was endorsed by the Emergency Committee.

The powerful 22-man Executive Committee of the GFA have however requested for details of the signed agreement for ratification.

Reports are rife Kwesi Appiah will be resigning his post due to a reported imposition of an expatriate technical advisor to supervise his work.

But the former Black Stars captain told GHANAsoccernet.com he will not quit his job.

Appiah is expected to arrive in the country this weekend to begin preparations for next month’s 2015 Africa Cup of Nations qualifiers against Uganda and Togo.
