Ghana midfielder Kwadwo Asamoah has been named in Juventus’ squad for a competitive match for the first time in nearly one year after recovering from a career-threatening knee injury, GHANAsoccernet.com can confirm.

The 25-year-old was named in the 20-man squad for Saturday’s Serie A clash at Napoli which means he is being considered for selection by coach Allegri.

Asamoah’s inclusion in the squad means the Ghana international has now fully recovered from the injury that has kept him out of action since November last year.

His inclusion in the squad comes just two days after Ghana’s leading football news outlet GHANAsoccernet.com reported of the massive injury recovery boost by playing in Juventus’ friendly against Castellazzo on Wednesday.

The Ghana international, who has been sidelined since November last year, played 60 minutes for the Old Lady against the lower division side.

His performance in the match looks to have forced the coach to name him among the Bianconeri squad for the trip to San Paolo, as Asamoah is in the travelling party for the first time since the injury last year

Asamoah delayed return to the pitch has forced Juventus to exclude him from their UEFA Champions League squad.

The 25-year-old suffered a career threatening injury and underwent surgery in November last year to correct a cartilage in his left knee.

Juventus squad to face Napoli: Buffon, Chiellini, Zaza, Morata, Pogba, Hernanes, Alex Sandro, Barzagli, Cuadrado, Lemina, Bonucci, Padoin, Dybala, Asamoah, Rugani, Neto, Sturaro, Evra, Pereyra, Audero.
