Kevin’s physio to join Black Stars bench

The Ghana FA is considering bringing on board Kevin-Prince Boateng’s personal physiotherapist, Hagen Stroh as a member of Coach Kwesi Appiah’s backroom staff, Footy-Ghana can report.

The physiotherapist has been with the Schalke 04 midfielder at the national team camp since he ended his retirement from international football and according to our information, the FA sees his presence as a chance to co-opt him into the team and cater for the other players during the busy World Cup period.

“We are looking to boost the backroom staff and wherever needs an addition per Coach Kwesi Appiah’s recommendation or approval, we will make an addition.

“We believe the intensity of the games at the World Cup calls for extra hands and already, we intend talking to Kevin’s [Prince Boateng] personal physio to extend his work to the rest of the team at a cost.

“He recently assisted us when Dede got injured in the Egypt game,” Ghana FA Spokesperson Saanie Daara confirmed.

Already there are talks of ex-Black Stars midfielder Otto Addo scouting Germany – one of Ghana’s group opponents for the Brazil World Cup but the Ghana FA spokesperson says the ex-international would need to get permission from his current employers Hamburger SV before confirming his availability for the role.
