Ghanaian midfielder Kwadwo Asamoah insists that his primary objective this season is to win the UEFA Champions League this season with Juventus.

After maintaining their dominance in the Italian Serie A over the past couple of seasons, Asamoah has every right to want more, and in what better competition, than the UEFA Champions League.

“Last season we could not make it past the qualifiers and had to play in the Europa League an action that saw us reach the semifinal. This time we are in the Champions League and it is a good thing for us as we hope to replicate our good form in the Serie A into the competition”, Asamoah mentioned.

“I know we will win a few trophies here and there, but personally the Champions League trophy is my target”.

Juventus have been pitched in the same group as Atletico Madrid, Malmo FF, and Olympiakos in Group A of this season’s competition. They managed to win at home 2-0 against Malmo FF.

But for Kwadwo, they will have to work extra hard in their next game against Atletico Madrid, a game he envisages will be much tougher than their previous following the strength of the opponent.

“They are a very strong side and they lost their first game, so they will come firing at us from all angles, especially on their home grounds. But we are confident in our abilities and will look to beat them to help our progress in the competition.”
