The former Communications Director of the Ghana Football Association, Ibrahim Sannie Daara, has disclosed that it will be very difficult for Black Stars coach Otto Addo to exclude captain Andre Dede Ayew from his squad.
Andre Ayew has faced challenges in the Black Stars lately due to the team's recent performances.
Under his leadership as Black Stars captain, the team has suffered group stage exits in the last two editions of the AFCON and the 2022 FIFA World Cup.
While a section of fans believes it's time for the national team to move on from Andre Ayew, Sannie Daara contends that it will be very difficult to do so at this time.
With Andre Ayew scoring 5 goals this season in the French Ligue 1 and one of his goals being nominated for Goal of the Season, Sannie Daara believes there is more that the 34-year-old can offer.
In a post on X, the former GFA spokesperson stated, "To think that Andre Ayew is able to produce such a goal that wins the Goal of the Month award in the French top-flight shows that he has more to offer. Well done, Capi."
"This will be hard for Otto Addo to ignore in his Black Stars call-ups," he added.
Coach Otto Addo is expected to name Ghana's squad for the game against Mali in the 2026 FIFA World Cup qualifiers in the coming weeks.
