Ghana forward Prince Tagoe has had his contract at Hoffenheim annulled because of a heart problem.
Tagoe's lawyer is contesting the Bundesliga club's decision, saying a second opinion did not reveal any problems.
Hoffenheim said Wednesday: "In the current situation, we cannot be responsible for letting Prince Tagoe take part in any sporting activities of the club. We also have no reason to believe that the situation will change and therefore we cannot maintain the contract."
The 22-year-old Tagoe joined Hoffenheim on a free transfer from Saudi club Al-Ittifaq Dammam during the off-season.
