'Hearts pull plug on signing Latif Salifu'

Supporters chief Barima Atuahene says Hearts of Oak have abandoned their plans to sign forward Latif Salifu.

The former Ghana U20 star signed a three-year contract with the Phobians last month but the move appears to have fallen through.

Berekum Chelsea insists they still have a valid contract with Salifu who was signed by Hearts as a free agent.

Chelsea have even held talks to sell the swift forward to Ivorian champions AS Tanda.

Some fans of the Phobians feel they’ve again been let down by the club on what appears to be another miss to sign an established Premier League performer.

And Barima Atuahene who is a member of Hearts of Oak’s board as a representative of the supporters say the club is no longer pursuing Latif Salifu.

“Latif [Salifu] is no longer in the plans of Hearts of Oak,” he told a supporter’s durbar in Kumasi.

“He is no longer part of our plans.”
