Ghana’s pursuit of luring Athletic Bilbao attacker Inaki Williams could hit a snag after Spanish Coach Vicente Del Bosque hinted at the possibility of including the player in his squad for the 2016 UEFA European Championships.

Williams, born to a Ghanaian father a Liberian mother has become a target for the Ghana Football Association who are said to be working on his nationality switch to play for the Black Stars.

The 21-year-old is eligible to feature for the West African country having represented Spain at the junior level.

His performance in the Spanish Primera has caught the interest of the Ghana Football Association who are eager to complete a move for the player to represented the African giants.

The player who was born in Spain holds allegiance to play for his country of birth who have already made intention by inviting him into the squad for the tournament in May.

“There’s also Inaki Williams at Athletic, whom we consider more of a striker than a wing player,” Del Bosque said, in addition to the mention of Alvaro Morata, Iago Aspas, PacoAlcacer, Diego Costa, Imanol Agirretxe, Borja Baston, Lucas Perez and Aritz Aduriz," Del Bosque said.

“He has great speed and is playing with the Spain under-21s. All of them are in my head and we will call on the ones we think are the most convenient. We will try to bring the best.”

The striker who has so far scored 11 goals for Bilbao this season would be competing for a regular spot on the Spanish National team which is flocked with a number of good strikers.
