Ghana set to snub Kevin-Prince Boateng, Sulley Muntari for AFCON 2017

Ghana coach Avram Grant is set to snub experienced but suspended midfielders Kevin-Prince Boateng and Sulley Muntari for the 2017 Africa Cup of Nations next month.

There is a huge local clamour for the duo to be named in the squad for the tournament to be played be staged in Gabon.

The huge campaign for the duo has been necessitated unimpressive showing of the Black Stars in matches with the view their their presence would boost the squad.

The two players were suspended from the Black Stars after their various acts of indiscipline at the 2014 World Cup in Brazil.

While Muntari has apologised for his misconduct, Boateng has stated his desire for his return but has not apologised.

Muntari with enviable experience is touted as one who can add the spice that is needed to rebuild the Black Stars who have struggled in recent times.

However, Muntari is still without a club and his inclusion could spark concerns about his fitness for the competition as he has not played for more than six months.

The only concern about Boateng would be that he has not apologised even though he is in good form for Spanish side Las Palmas.

All look lost now with claims that coach Avram Grant has over looked the former AC Milan men and will concentrate on the crop of players who have brought him so much joy in his two year stay with in Ghana.
