Ghana's ranking slide continues

Accra, Aug 22, GNA - Ghana dropped six places to the 43rd position in the latest FIFA Coca-Cola rankings released on Wednesday. The Black Stars lost 28 points of their previous 693, which thus sinks them to the eighth position on the African continent.

Information gathered by the GNA Sports on the official website of the Federation of International Football Associations (FIFA) has it that the Stars dropped 24 places within the last three months, a period during which they were inactive.

The Black Stars played their first match in more than three months on Tuesday, August 21 against the Teranga Lions of Senegal in London, which ended one all, and the result is expected to reflect in the next rankings.

On the African continent, Ghana has been overtaken by Tunisia at the fifth position with Guinea moving from the seventh position to the eighth position.

Cameroon, the only African team in the World 20 still occupy the first spot, followed by Nigeria, Cote D'Ivoire and Morocco in that order.

Five-time World Champions Brazil still maintain the first position with Argentina, Italy, France and Germany completing the first five.
