Ghana premier league to return next season, Medeama to be declared 2018 champions

Following the circumstances surrounding football in the country in the aftermath of the Anas exposé, resumption of football in Ghana has been on a standstill without any knowledge as to when football will resume in the country again.

With several meetings between the Government of Ghana and FIFA in establishing procedures to bringing back football in the country, there is no clear time and date as to when football will resume all in the process of restoring the lost sanctity and dignity of the game.

A deep throat government source at the has hinted to 442gh.com that the 2017/18 league season will be cut short for Medeama SC, who topped the Zylofon Cash Premier League after the first round, to be declared as champions.

The information laid to 442gh.com indicates that the reasons for that are to help synchronize the league to meet international football calendar which starts in September for the 2018/19 season.

Premier League clubs will be told to start preparing for the 2018/19 football season in September since the 2017/18 season cannot beat the scheduled time of August 2018.

The source further reveals that, due to the severity of the Anas exposé and the subsequent Government actions, the Zylofon Cash Premier League will cease to continue and there will no be relegation and promotion for the 2017/18 season.

The declaration of Medeama SC as the champions of the 2017/18 season will make way for them to represent Ghana in the 2019 CAF Champions League.
