Zylofon Cash Premier League current leaders Medeama Sporting Club and second-placed Ashanti Gold will represent Ghana in Africa next year as the 2017/18 season’s league doesn’t look likely to return.

The Ghana Football Association postponed all football matches until further notice as a result of a directive from the government of Ghana following the Anas Exposé.

As a result of the standstill of football activities in the country and with the date of a restart of the league unknown, a top government source has disclosed to 442gh.com that the league will cease to continue and there will be no promotion and demotion for the 2017/18 season.

Medeama Sporting Club, who finished the first round on top of the league with 27 points, will be declared 2018 champions and will be representing Ghana in next year’s CAF Champions League while Ashanti Gold plays in the CAF Confederation Cup for placing second with 27 points on the league table.

These clubs will be informed of the decision of government in the coming days as the Football Association has been rendered function-less by the state.
