Ghana FA slams Hearts

Hearts of Oak fraternity has descended on the Premier League Board (PLB) and the Ghana Football Association (GFA) for not given the club a preferential treatment.

The Phobians’ request to have their final league match to end the first round postponed was rejected and had to play Ashanti Gold last Wednesday before facing Djoliba AC on Sunday.

Hearts lost 1-0 to Mali’s Djoliba and some fans have fingered the Ghana FA for the defeat but spokesperson Ibrahim Saani Daara says their argument is impotent.

“We want Hearts to do well but we are faced with other challenges. The things that we have always been accused of are what they were asking us to do,” he told Joy FM.

“The premier league board is made up of all the sixteen clubs with a chairman and so the decisions taken there are taken by all the clubs and I would have thought if you are part of a group and such a key decision is going to be taken, your duty should have been to lobby your members and tell them why you can’t play on a particular day.

“But if you are unable to convince them, you cannot blame anyone for your won inadequacies,” he said.

Hearts have been drawn against Esperance in the second round of eight of the Caf Confederations Cup.
