Kumasi Dec. 16 GNA - Joe Louis, a former player of the Accra Great Olympics has appealed to both the management and supporters of the club to allow calm and peace to prevail.
He said what was expected of all those who genuinely love the Club was for them to unite and stand solidly behind the playing body and give them the necessary material, spiritual and moral support to bring the "Wonder Club" back to the Premier Division.
Louis who now plies his trade with Kumasi Asante Kotoko made the appeal in an interview with the GNA Sports in Kumasi on Wednesday and said the relegation of Olympics to the First Division should provide a useful lesson to all in and outside the club to realise that internal wrangling and squabbles were most unhelpful to team building.
He drew attention to all stakeholders of the club on the need for them to dwell more on issues that would unite them and not what will divide their ranks.
The player who was recently put on the transfer list by Asante Kotoko discounted claims that he has come to the end of his football career.
Louis told the GNA Sports that he was now recuperating from a knee injury he suffered and that he was hopeful of playing active football next year.
He said at the moment he was negotiating with the local football controlling body, Ghana Football Association's (GFA) Player Status Committee to secure a floating player status in order to freely play for any club of his choice.
