Accra, Dec 17, GNA - Okwawu United and Sekondi Hasaacas, the two teams, which occupied penultimate positions in the GT Novelty Premier League will on Sunday, December 19 meet in a playoff at the Ohene Djan Sports Stadium in Accra.
The match will determine which of the two teams remains in the premiership. The loser will engage in another playoff with the third placed team in the Division One League (DOL) Middle League, with the winner joining the premiership train next season.
A Ghana Football Association (GFA) statement signed by Mr Kwaku Ampim-Darko, Deputy General Secretary, Technical, announcing the date for the match said it would kick off at 15:00 (3 p.m.) local time. The statement listed gate fees as 15,000 cedis for the Wings, Upper Terrace and the May 9 Stands and 10,000 cedis for the Popular Stands. Meanwhile, Accra Great Olympics and Sunyani Brong Ahafo United, the two clubs, which placed last in Zone A and B respectively in the Novelty League are crying foul over imminent relegation, insisting that the league lacked national character and that it would be unfair to relegate any club based on the limited number of matches each club played.
