'Fierce Storm' Boxing Championship set for Sept. 12

Accra, Sept. 3, GNA - Box Office Sports, an-Accra based sports promotion outfit has put together a Boxing championship on Saturday, September 12, 2009.

The event dubbed "The Fierce Storm" is scheduled for the Globe Cinema in Accra and has a total of six bouts. The peak of the bouts is the National Featherweight Championship between Emmanuel Tagoe 'The Gameboy' and Patrick Okine 'The Mallet'. Alex Ntiamoah-Boakye, Chief Executive Officer and Promoter of the event in a press release copied to GNA Sports said the winner of the 12-round contest will move a step closer to the vacant national title. Michael Barnor 'Annor Ray' will also face Alfred Quaye 'Aawour' in a 12-round Bantamweight clash.

In the Welterweight division, former Commonwealth champion, Joshua Okine 'Bukom Tsatsu' will battle Paul Achab 'The Executioner' in an 8-round contest.

Obodai Sai 'The Miracle' will come up against Jonathan Akrofi 'The Lion' in a Super Welterweight contest also in 8-rounds. In the Lightweight division, Samuel Kotey Neequaye 'The Unbelievable' will lock horns against Charles Amui Tetteh 'The Mafia' whilst Benjamin Mensah faces Benjamin Ashley, both in six-rounds. According to the organizers, the Gates will open at 19h00.
