Tagoe Out, Boateng In

Derek Boateng has been handed a late call-up into the Black Stars after striker Prince Tagoe was ruled out of the 2010 World Cup qualifier against Sudan on Sunday.

Tagoe, who is battling to have his player's license restored in Germany, will undergo German Football Federation tests to clear up issues about his health on Thursday and can thus not make neither the Sudan game nor the international friendly against Japan next Wednesday.

In his place, Getafe midfielder Derek Boateng has been called up and joined up with the rest of the team on Thursday morning.

Boateng has not played for Ghana since appearing as a substitute in a friendly against Brazil in 2007 and will be keen to take his chance this term.

Tagoe's fate though is the main talking point now.

Milovan Rajevac included him in his squad in what many said was a snub to Hoffenheim who claimed he had heart problems before back tracking.
