Chief Bakare presents trophies to Division One League

Accra, July 15, GNA - Chief Adebayo Bakare, a keen sports enthusiast on Tuesday presented six trophies to the Division One League Board (DOL) to be competed for in this year's competition. The first three clubs to qualify for the Premier League would receive three of the trophies while the 'Best Player', the 'Goal King' and 'Best Defender' during the Middle League competition would receive the other three trophies.

Chief Bakare said the items were his personal contribution towards the development of sports from the grassroots. He expressed the hope that the Clubs would put in their utmost best to ensure a keen and fair competition.

Mr Kwame Ntow-Fianko, Chairman of the DOL who received the trophies on behalf of the Ghana Football Association thanked Chief Bakare for his gesture and called on other philanthropists and benevolent organizations to come to the aid of the Association to develop soccer from the lower levels.
