Chibsah: We’ll beat Mozambique to reach All Africa Games

Italy-based Ghanaian midfielder Yusif Rahman Chibsah says he is very confident about the chances of Ghana U23 team against their counterparts from Mozambique in the 2015 All Africa Games qualifier.

The Black Meteors lost the first leg 1-0 in Maputo three weeks ago after conceding an own goal.

Coach Malik Jabir’s men must now overturn the slender defeat in order to book a ticket to the All Africa Games in Congo Brazzaville when the two sides clash at the Tamale Sports Stadium on Sunday.

Chibsah, who is expected to join his colleagues from Italy on Thursday, told Goal that the Black Meteors cannot afford to disappoint Ghanaians.

“Just as they defeated us in the first leg, we will equally account for them in Tamale. We are very determined to win this game because it is very important to us,” Chibsah said.

The former Ghana U20 player also called on local supporters to throng the Tamale Stadium in their numbers.

“They just have to be our 12th man on the pitch to help us win this match. With the fans, we will have an extra advantage.

“We won’t succumb to pressure, but just go ahead and play our normal game," the 22-year-old said.

Ghana edged out Nigeria to qualify for the 2011 edition and eventually went to Maputo to clinch the gold medal.
