Asamoah Gyan faces prolonged spell on the sidelines

Ghana striker Asamoah Gyan has suffered yet another injury setback at Al Ain.

The 29-year-old pulled out of the Boss’ squad an hour before their Champions League clash at home to Pakhtakor.

Al Ain coach Zlatko Dalic had earlier declared the Black Stars captain fit to start the game.

Gyan’s absence from Tuesday’s game sparked inquests into his unavailability.

The Croatian coach of Al Ain, Zlatko Dalic revealed his prolific striker suffered another setback.

“You should know that the team lacked an hour before the start of the game Asamoah Gyan’s efforts and this thing is not easy,” Dalic revealed.

The latest injury to Gyan is however considered not to be a major one and is expected back in action for the side in their next match.
