Former Ghana Boxing Association (GBA) President, Moses Foh Amoaning has reiterated that the Black Stars urgently need the services of Eddie Nketiah and Callum Hudson-Odoi to strengthen the team ahead of the 2026 FIFA World Cup.

According to him, his sources indicate that Nketiah has nearly completed the processes to be eligible to play for Ghana, while Hudson-Odoi is still working on his own.

The veteran broadcaster emphasised that he finds no fault with journalists advocating for their inclusion and fully supports the move, stressing that their quality will benefit the Black Stars.

“If you are a journalist pushing for Kevin-Prince Boateng to play for Ghana, it is a good thing. Many journalists are pushing for Eddie Nketiah and Hudson-Odoi to play for Ghana, and it is a good thing. There is no doubt about them, if they play for the national team, they will improve the quality.

"For me, I think we need them urgently. Information from the grapevine indicates that Nketiah is injured, but eventually, at the end of it, he will come and play for us, all things being equal. Hudson, there are one or two issues, but even that I think we will clear,” he said in Twi during an interview with Kessben FM.

The astute lawyer further called for proper measures to ensure foreign-based nationals are recruited at earlier stages, rather than chasing them when they mature.

“If we structure ourselves well and have a system that guides them while they are abroad, and not focus only on Ghana, it will help us. Some FA officials and even journalists, everybody has an interest in pushing agendas in terms of players. We want them to play for the junior teams, everybody does that and I understand. The way to stop that is to ensure the system itself generates quality,” he added.
