Suspension of GPL has affected me financially - Ashgold defender

Ashanti Gold SC defender Eric Donkor has disclosed that the suspension of the 2019/20 Ghana Premier League season has affected him financially.

All football leagues have been halted since mid-March as part of measures to help curb the spread of the disease.

The President of Ghana, Nana Akuffo Addo recently extended the ban on sporting activities to July 31, however, the FA has set June 30 as the date they decide the future of the league.

"As a footballer, I will say the break has affected my personal life because football is all about training and games, lacking those things is really affecting me. Individual training is not helping me," Donkor told OTEC FM.

"It has also affected me financially, although I’m being paid, I would have gotten some income if the season is ongoing."

The Premier League was at its match week 15 stage when it was halted with Aduana Stars leading the table with 28 points.
