Augson Global warns public of fake Facebook accounts and impersonation

Augson Global Limited, a Ghana-based multi-sector investment conglomerate, has cautioned the public to be vigilant against impersonators who were using fake social media accounts in its name.

A statement signed by Mr Rudolf Schirmer Ampofo-Domfeh, and copied to the Ghana News Agency, cautioned: “Some unscrupulous individuals are using fake Facebook accounts impersonating Augson Global Limited and its subsidiary company Augson Trading to scam people on Facebook.

“Some group of criminals are using our corporate information on a fake Facebook account impersonating Augson Global and engaging in some fraudulent activities.

The fake accounts are: “Augson Global Fashion Co. GH. Ltd” and “Augson Trading GH. Company Ltd”, it said, adding that the fraudsters used these fake accounts with images of products belonging to “Warm the Feet,” a shoe making company in Ghana.

The statement said Augson Global was working with the Ghana Police Service to identify the perpetrators for prosecution and urged the public volunteer information to aid the process.
