Chief farmer appeals to farmers to patronise census

Sefwi Dadieso (W/R, March 10, GNA - Nana Paul Osei, District Chief Farmer for Dadieso "B", has urged farmers in the area to fully participate in the forthcoming national population and housing Census.

This, he noted, would give the country accurate and dependable data for the planning and distribution of development projects. Nana Osei made the call during a farmers' meeting at Kwasuo in the Aowin-Suaman District of the Western Region.

He urged them to cooperate with census officers to make the exercise a success. Nana Osei expressed concern about the deplorable state of the Bonsu-Nkwanta-Kwasuo-Dadieso stretch of road, adding that some bridges on the road have become death traps.

He, therefore, appealed to the government to take action to enable farmers to send their farm produce to market centres. Nana Osei advised farmers to create fire belts around their farms to prevent them from being destroyed by bushfires during the dry season, and cautioned that anyone caught setting fire indiscriminately would be prosecuted.

He advised the people to plant more trees to save the environment from destruction.
