Captain of Samaria Ladies FC worried about the future of women football

Captain of Samaria Ladies FC, Leticia Adjei has bemoaned the effect of the global pandemic, covid-19 on women football in the country.

According to her, the women football may suffer a great deal if the current trend on ban on sporting activities in the country continues.

She explained that girls find it difficult bouncing back to active sports than their male counterparts, adding the situation was worrying for the game.

The midfielder added that women also put on weight easier without frequent training and that makes coming back and staying fit a heavy tussle.

"When football come to an unexpected halt, female players,” she said, suffer the most because without frequent training it is very difficult for girls to come back fit.

“As we are experiencing this ban on social gatherings I am doing my best at home to keep fit and not to gain too much weight even though it is very difficult. I hope football comes back soon," she said.

In view of these challenges, she expressed worry with hopes that the game bounces back again.

Adjei was in a fantastic form in the NC special competition and a masterpiece for Samaria Ladies, earning her a call up to the Black Queens.

She was in a blaze of form at the start of the season setting the difference in the massive win against NC competition champions Hasaacas Ladies.

Women football around the globe is yet to receive a major boost although some male football leagues have resumed in the midst of the pandemic.
