Revocation of my appointment not due to incompetence – Vincent Sowah Odotei

La Dadekotopon MP, Vincent Sowah Odotei has said the revocation of his appointment as the Deputy Communication Minister cannot be linked with non-performance or corruption.

He said, even though he will not give the reasons why he was relieved of his position, he has no issues with President Akufo-Addo as he has the prerogative hire and fire. Vincent Odotei Sowah was relieved of his appointment as Deputy Communication Minister by the President on April 6, 2020.

He was replaced by, Alexander Kodwo Kom Abban who was the Deputy Health Minister.

Dr. Bernard Oko-Boye, MP for Ledzokuku became the substantive Deputy Minister for Health after going through the vetting process and having been approved.

Vincent Odotei-Sowah reacting to the revocation of his appointment on Eyewitness news on Citi FM said the president called to inform him he had been relieved of his position.

“The President has a prerogative to hire and fire. I am not incompetent and I am not corrupt. I will be forever grateful to him [for the opportunity to serve for some time].”

“The President called to tell me I had been relieved of my position. I will rather not discuss that [why I was relieved].”

He added that he still has a good relationship with the Minister for Communication, Ursula Owusu .

“My relationship with her is very good. I do not have issues with her. If I have the chance I will work with her again.” He said
