NPP to strengthen Rural Campaign

The New Patriotic Party (NPP) has established a wing within the party known as the Centre for Politics and Democracy to train party loyalists in effective campaigning in the rural areas as well as in the detection of electoral irregularities, writes the Daily Graphic.

Mr K. Oduro-Kwarten, a leading member of the party and Director of Operations a the centre announced this at a delegates congress of the Akyem Swedru Constituency at Akyem Swedru. he stressed that unlike in 1992 when the NPP concentrated on the urban centres, the party is now building up structures from the rural areas to the urban areas. He stressed that the NPP has no leadership crisis as being circulated by opponents of the party, adding that according to the party's constitution, the race is open to all for the best

to be selected at the national congress. He expressed concern at living conditions in the country particularly the serious unemployment problems coupled with high hospital expenses and school fees and said an NPP government would try and find a just and lasting solution to these problems.
