Bissa Fitness Club reaches out to the needy

Bissa Fitness Club GH embarked on an outreach program, BFC GH Ramadan and Covid-19 outreach. The motive behind the idea was to provide mainly food relief items in a critical period of the coronavirus pandemic, to some needy residents within certain communities of the Greater Accra, Central and Eastern Regions of Ghana who are observing the Muslim Holy month of Ramadan.

The items donated to each beneficiary included a 5kg bag of rice, tin tomatoes, a bottle of oil, tins of milk, a pack of teabags, box of sugar cubes, a pack of water, hand sanitizers among other essentials. The areas covered involved Nima-Mamobi, Shukura, Sabon Zongo, Kasoa, Teacher Mante and others.

One of the beneficiaries, Ahmed Saeed was pleasantly surprised by the gesture.

He said, “I had been here praying that a good samaritan will come my way with with some kind of help one way or the other, and here we are, these noble young men have just surprised me. May God bless them abundantly.”

President of the club, Hussein Hassan Yorda advocates the club will in the next few weeks identify more of such needy people and help put smiles on their faces.

“Like we said before the launching of our club, keeping fit is just one aspect of what we want to do. Our aim is also to make an impact in people’s lives in our own little way. In the coming weeks, we’re going to identify some more people in other communities and reach out to them In Sha Allah.”

Mr. Yorda, also thanked members of the Bissa Fitness Club (GH) as well as the team of executives for their contributions towards the outreach program.

Speaking about how beneficiaries were chosen, Public Relations Officer of Bissa Fitness Club Alhaji Shaibu Samandulugu said, “we used our various contacts to pick out people who might possibly be in dire need of these items. It wasn’t an easy process at all because we had more people than we had items, but our very competent team made made it look easy.”

The Bissa Fitness Club (GH) was launched on 5th October, 2019, to organize aerobics sessions for its members across the country, as well as engage in social activities for the betterment of society as a whole.
