Medeama SC forward Prince Opoku Agyeman has revealed that he is ready to accept a pay cut amid the Coronavirus pandemic to ease the financial burden on his club.

Over the last several weeks, there has been a debate by some club officials and journalists on whether or not the local clubs should emulate some European clubs in cutting down the salaries of players in the wake of the Coronavirus pandemic.

Though some players are against this proposal, the goal machine in an interview with Kumasi FM said it will be prudent for players to sacrifice part of their monies in this trying time.

“We are all at home because of the league suspension but I’m unaware of a move by our management on the subject.

“Personally, I think it’s in the right direction for us to sacrifice a little of our salary to save lives.”

“It may happen that this pandemic has affected a close friend or a family member which I’m not aware of. It will be an honour in contributing to caring for the sick and the affected ones. I am very ok with it,” he concluded.
