A Ghanaian goalkeeper hoping to emulate his compatriot Richard Ofori has been in talks with several Premier Soccer League clubs as he contemplates a move to South Africa ahead of the upcoming transfer window, his agent has confirmed.

Felix Annan briefly became the talk of the town in Mzansi two weeks ago when a story in his native country claimed he’d signed for Maritzburg United to replace Ofori – who was on his way to Orlando Pirates, according to the report.

But the Absa Premiership outfit chairman Farouk Kadodia dismissed it as only a rumour and confirmed that Ofori is still very much their player and he will not be leaving the ‘Team of Choice’ unless the offer makes sense to both parties.

Speaking to the Siya crew, Philemon Baiden, who is Annan’s agent said: “We have spoken to a few clubs in SA and when we get a good offer and more playing time we would like for the player to move on.”

Baiden said Annan, who is understood to have been offered to Orlando Pirates in the past, remains on the books of Ghana giants Asante Kotoko for the next two years and a move to the PSL could be the big break that he needs.

“His contract with Kotoko expires in two years, but there is a mutual understanding in the contract,” added Baiden regarding the 25-year-old keepers’ current situation.
