Ghana legend Asamoah Gyan feels unappreciated despite his numerous achievements with the Black Stars.

Gyan, who made his Black Stars debut back in 2003 has chalked numerous successes for the country.

But according to Gyan he is yet to receive the needed praise from Ghanaians for being the country's all time top scorer.

Asked if he feels unappreciated in the country, he said, “Sometimes yes but in other way round I feel like people love me more than the people who don’t which is a balance thing. I think 90% of the Ghanaian populace love me but the negative once causes more damage than the positive once”

“Me feel unappreciated, the records are there. Just recently I have seen people saying a lot of good things about me on social media but I do ask myself why didn’t they said it before when I was in my prime causing problems for defenders”

“Now that we are home and I am 34 years now, people want to retire me. They think I have retired and that want to say good things about me. Sometimes it feels good but sometimes I just sit down and shake my head”

“I’m also a fan of social media, I remember somebody tweeted about Ronaldo that he has scored in ten consecutive tournaments that is where you will see a Ghanaian writing, oh Asamoah Gyan did this and I do ask myself why you didn’t say it before. You want somebody to praise his hero before you counter that person” he emphasized.
