The Gospel Faith Ministry, has distributed various food items to members of its congregation to bring some relief to them as a result of the lockdown due to COVID-19.

The Head Pastor of the Church, Reverend Isaac Obed Asamoah, together with some Elders of the Church, presented the items to members around A-Lang near Awoshie, Tesano, and Abeka-Lapaz at their doorsteps.

The food items distributed include bags of rice and gari, some corn-dough, tin tomatoes, oil and some sardines.

Speaking to the Ghana News Agency in Accra, Rev Asamoah said other members of the church who stay near Kasoa, Winneba, and Adjirigono were sent some monies through their mobile money platforms so they could also buy some foodstuff for their families.

He said the Church decided to reach out to its members in this era of the social distancing where many of its members have been affected just as any Ghanaian.

Commending President Nana Addo Dankwa Akufo-Addo for his "brilliant leadership role" in mitigating the impact of the virus, Rev Asamoah said all the citizens should continue to abide by the directive of the lockdown and social distancing so "we will all be protected and safe from the pandemic".

Rev Asamoah also asked all Christians to continue to bear the country and the entire world in prayer until "help comes from the prayer-answering God".

He assured that the Church would continue to support the state in "alleviating the sufferings of the people in these difficult times".
