A new date for this year’s Seafood Expo Global and Seafood Processing Global is currently being pursued by organizers following its postponement last month.

This has become necessary due to the magnitude of health and safety issues posed by the escalating novel Coronavirus Disease (COVID-19) outbreaks and infection, which forced organizers to postpone the event originally scheduled for this month in Brussels, Belgium.

However, organizers and key stakeholders have insisted that the event will be held later this year and the Ghana Export Promotion Authority (GEPA) is expected to play a key role at the rescheduled event, leading the country’s participation by players in the Ghanaian seafood value chain including manufacturers and suppliers, among others.

The expo is coming at a crucial time as government and various stakeholders are pursuing a number of value addition initiatives.

These initiatives would therefore create the avenue for people to add value to their produce, market and sell them to the global seafood market.

Thus participation at the global expo is expected to create opportunity for players in Ghana’s seafood industry to connect with industry professionals and share best practices.

This market prospect will also enable people find new products, source all varieties of seafood and seafood products, as well as services and equipment from a variety of global players.
