The Information Minister, Kojo Oppong Nkrumah has reminded Ghanaians that regardless of the fact that the country is fighting COVID-19, the world celebrates people living with autism.

According to him, there is a need to employ autistic people because that will allow the world to be an inclusive world.

He made this as part of his message as the world is celebrating World Autism Awareness Day.

“While we all may be focused on covid-19 let’s not forget that today is World Autism Awareness Day. There are individuals and families out there who have to deal with the impact of Covid-19 and also face the daily challenges of living with Autism Spectrum Disorder(ASD)," he said.

"Today more than ever, we need to strive to create a more kinder and inclusive world for persons with autism. In line with this year’s theme 'Transitioning to adulthood' let’s strive to train and employ persons with autism so as to create a more inclusive and kinder world. Join the Ministry of Information to spread awareness and creating opportunities for individuals with autism,” he added.
