Enugu Rangers goalkeeper Nana Bonsu has disclosed that Ghanaian duo Sadiq Abubakar and Seidu Mutawakilu would have travelled with the recently deceased teammate George Ifeanyi had it not been the lockdown in Ghana due to the coronavirus outbreak.

On Sunday, Enugu Rangers forward Ifeanyi George passed away in a gory accident on Onitsha-Agbor-Benin expressway after his car bumped into a parked truck on his way to Lagos.

The sharp-shooter was returning home after being granted leave by Rangers due to the NPFL suspension amid the coronavirus pandemic.

During an interview with Kumasi-based Sikka FM, Rangers goalkeeper Nana Bonsu, revealed that the deceased striker was close to Ghanaian duo Mutawakilu and Sadiq hence they would have traveled with him but escaped due to the lockdown in Ghana after the NPFL break.

"Two Ghanaian players Sadiq and Seidu Mutawakilu would have traveled with Ifeanyi George to Lagos if not the lock-down in Ghana,” Nana Bonsu said.
