Member of Parliament for North Tongu, Samuel Okudzeto Ablakwa, has denied reports of him blaming president Nana Addo Dankwa Akufo-Addo for Ghana’s increasing cases of Coronavirus.

According to a report by Mynewsgh, the legislator in an interview with Asempa FM’s 'Ekosii Sen' stated that Ghana wouldn’t have recorded this much cases if the president had heeded to calls to evacuate Ghanaian students in China and strictly adhered to World Health Organisation evacuation protocols.

The report was headlined “Rise in coronavirus cases must be blamed on Akufo-Addo – Ablakwa”

But in a rejoinder on Facebook, the Member of Parliament has urged Ghanaians to ignore the report.

“I thought detractors will close their fake news lab and marshall all energy, creativity and time to fight COVID-19. The only labs that should be open now are the scientific and pharmaceutical labs, not fake news labs. Kindly ignore. No time for jokes!” he stated in the Facebook post.
